Attendance
Good attendance and punctuality in school supports children to do better because they benefit from the full curriculum and any support programmes that the school sets up for them. If you are concerned about getting your child into school please start to talk to us sooner than later so we can try to help. We also work closely with the Education Welfare Officer (EWO) to track attendance and patterns of lateness.
Headteachers are now only allowed to authorise any leave of absence when an application has been made in advance, and it's felt to be for an exceptional circumstance. The annual family holiday wouldn't be deemed an exceptional circumstance. If you need to request an exceptional absence (e.g. funeral; wedding) please request a form from the office well in advance of the absence.
